Our bodies know that Winter Season is the time for hunkering down at home with something warm: a thick woolen sweater, a hot cup of tea, easy comforting slippers... Think of all those hibernating critters and wintering plants; they know!
Turning inward during the dark and cold is nature's way of recharging the batteries, and we don't do enough of it, most of us, in the super-stimulating social life that is the SF Bay Area.
Even for those of us who truly need to get out into the wind and work up an athletic sweat in the winter, a little time afterwards for warm quiet and thinking on the next year's plans is a great inner boost.
