The Yoga Room teaches great asana!

What is commonly called "Yoga" is really Hathayoga, one of eight parts of continuous comportment discipline to help individuals in society coexist peacefully. I was fortunate to discover Hathayoga postures, called Asanas, when I was 12. I began to practice and study them at the age of 23.

The Yoga Room in Berkeley was the place. They teach the Iyengar style, emphasizing proper alignment and the use of props for gradually incresing flexibility. This not only protects the body from injury, but also encourages mental and spiritual strength and calm during practice, which is really the best part about Asanas!

The Yoga Room has has just relocated from the historic Julia Morgan building to a new space in Berkeley. I am so honored to be able to share the word of their continued good work.
